Phil Brooke
Integrative counselling psychologist, HCPC & BACP registered
Dr Philip Brooke, counselling psychologist: I work in an integrative way, which means I can draw upon different approaches to psychological therapy (CBT, psychodynamic & humanistic). I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work – this means respecting and accepting you as you are, while challenging you enough to help you to make changes in your life that feel meaningful to you. I currently work part-time in the NHS in a secondary care psychological therapies service offering group and individual therapy, and I am currently training in EMDR (trauma therapy) and CAT (cognitive analytical therapy) - see http://www.acat.me.uk/page/about+cat for more information. I have experience working with grief, neuro-diversity, from anxiety and depression through to more complex and enduring mental health problems, brief and long term therapy, and also in LGBTQ mental health.
I trained in counselling psychology at London Metropolitan University and qualified at the beginning of 2020. I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
